Lost Radio stations c4x 2024

Unread post by Paul8685 »

Around 2 weeks ago I suddenly lost my radio stations.
Going into settings - search for station option box greyed out when I try to reset it locks to" Searching for antenna." Can't see any physical damage to my roof antenna.
Any ideas.
Thanks Paul

Initial thought is to check the antenna connections at the antenna and the head unit, being relatively new you wouldn't expect corrosion but possibly loose from vibration? :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Your car should be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Get it booked into a dealer as soon as possible and don't mess with it yourself.

The aerial is in the sharks fin which appeared sometime in 2024 so I assume yours has one. That has so much "stuff" in there that it has its own interior cooling vent. Leaving it to a dealer is good advice. I would be interested to know what the lead time is ... "yes sir, we can book it in in xxx weeks".

I did wonder if the aerial box of tricks had its own fuse, a quick look in the handbook, fuses, "must be changed by a dealer etc." not even a fuse table. That makes me want to scream ..... AAAAAARRRRRGH. Imagine you are in the wilds of the highlands and your wiper fuse blows or if (as seems common now) dealers have a lead time of weeks to get anything done.

(Meanwhile for entertainment I guess you can use android auto - BBC sounds listen live or whatever but its nowhere near as convenient as proper radio.)

What type of roof antenna is it? If it's a shark's fin, or very stubby, type then the radio aerial(s) are not there. They'll be printed onto the tailgate glass or rear side windows or hidden inside a tailgate spoiler. It's only if you have a bee-stinger type aerial that it'll be for the radio. There might still be a second aerial as well depending on the specification of the head unit.

Thanks for the replies yes...it is sharks fin antenna.
Had it into dealership garage took a full day to do nothing 😞
Said it would need the full dashboard removed check radio connections etc.
Said it would probably need to be in for 7 days.
Called Citroen support awaiting to see what they may advise .

All sounds to be a linked problem so maybe tell the dealer now. Do you use the mycitroen app? Where does that think you last parked? You might need to refresh several times then close and re open the app once or twice to get up to date position. I hope you get it sorted, My Tom Tom usually knows where I am but the routing and speed data can be hopeless, It also goes into spinning blue squares for up to 30 minutes every couple of weeks so I use android/google maps. But, having spent lots on a new car it should all work. 7 days seems a big lot for that job, let us know what happens.
