DS4 matching used ABS module

Hello friends.

I post in Citröen section because car is 2012 so is Citröen DS not independant DS.

A friend of mine ask for help but I don't know the answer.

He is professional also. His wife has 2012 DS4 pilot-semi-manual DV6. Suddenly no communication with ABS and transmission / hand brake in emergency mode.

He called me and I tell him check B+, B+, B+, wakeup, GND, GND at connector. If one is missing, is usual wire problem by battery wire bundle. If all OK, module has gone bad.

He check and confirm all B+ pins, all GND pins and wakeup all OK.

I tell him is bad module.

He go on Facebook and ask for help - bad idea. Because of this he waste a day and a half looking for ghosts in the wiring. Module was bad and is still bad, not a wire problem. Facebook people told him bad advice. Is common.

Anyway now he bring module to me, I confirm module is bad. No CAN activity, MCU not wake. Inside module is water - wafer is delaminated. Even after repair aluminium header wires, MCU still not wake. Even after direct BDM pin to wafer, mcu not boot. Module is good bye.

What to do now? New or virgin module not available to buy. Stellantis too much money and also no stock for over 1 month. Need solution quickly otherwise his wife will complain to my wife and I don't need conflict in my life.

Used modules with the same part number are avaliable and cheap, but how to match used module to car? Is possible? With which tool?
Both me and owner have full DiagBox but in menu I don't see options like that. I see fault reading, parameters measure x2, output testing, download (doesn't work, computer for offline only) etc etc. But I see no option for coding / variables.

I fix / modify hardware, this is not my expert area.

Is possible to match used module? If so, how?

What version of diagbox are you using? later versions only support online coding.
Ideally you want a 7.xx version.
coding is very basic on an ABS unit, its not so much coding as it is configuration, gearbox type, wheel size etc.

Thank you for this. And how is configuration done? With old DiagBox 7.xx also?

So he can buy any module with matching part number, and configure with old DiagBox?

Yes v7.xx should do the config no problem.
in the ABS menu them pack repair > programming/configuration.

If the 'new' ABS unit comes off a car with the same spec you wont need to do any programming at all.
There are only 3 or 4 options to configure from memory, gearbox type, tyre size. cant remember the others, possibly headlamp type & engine.
