Advice re: purchase of Lexia / Diagbox

Unread post by xj25vm »

Hello all. Anyone here who has used Lexia / Diagbox - would you mind taking a look at the link below and see if it looks like the right thing please. I have a Xsara Picasso 1.6hdi. Luckily I've never needed any advanced diagnostics so far - although I've been doing all the maintenance on the car for 15 years now. I would like to have access to a Lexia, in case it will be needed at some point. I also have a friend with a 2015 Berlingo 1.6hdi who might want to borrow it for some scans. I do understand I will also need a laptop, and if installing the older Diagbox version in native mode (as opposed to in a virtual machine), it would have to be on a Windows XP or Windows 7 32 bits.

Many thanks

Just buy one from AliExpress, they use software under Windows 10 without the need of VM, but be sure it's with all ic and optocouplers (gold version)

It seems to be a good one but it's not cheap. But it does include the s1279 adaptor which is probably worth £30 - £40 Having said that, most code readings won't need the adaptor!

Japanese chips embedded in electronics made in China.
It is important that they are Normal Chip Firmware 921815C: 12pcs JAPAN NEC Relays+7pcs OPTOCOUPLERS
I bought this and I am satisfied.

A program that works on XP is not necessary for a 2015 car. With this, you get a link for diagbox 9.91, which I didn't use at all, since I prefer this version.

The site is in Spanish but it is easy to install and then change the language.
