Ds7 opinions

Unread post by Dagman »

Hi all, I am soon to check out a ds7 at a local dealers. It is a 2021 1.6 puretech 180 performance line plus EAT8 with 23,000 miles. The opera and rivoli are taxwise not an option (refuse to pay the over £40,000 car tax bracket) I dont imagine it has a sunroof or active scan suspension?. Do you have this ds7 engine and trim? I will do a test drive but it won't be able to tell me everything ie.. skipping on rough surfaces I've read about, underpowered, heavy on fuel, poor cornering at speed? Do any of these ring true with yours and is there anything to add? Much appreciated for your experiences.

The way Stellantis are performing at the moment with regard to recalls on various issues I'd be wary of buying a newer Stellantis car at all!! :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Thanks mickthemaverick, I've trawled through the websites, seems the 1.6 puretech 180 has no recalls to read about nor bothersome belts/chains (hopefully). Just want to see if anyone who has this particular engine and trim can tell me about any shortcomings. I love the car looks especially interior but what is wrong overall? Wonder if I'll find out why the last owner traded it in? Probs not! The car is being prepped but the dealer says it is mint! My spider senses are twitching 😉. If anyone can help that would be great!

I'm also seeing lots of complaints of the car rears skipping on uneven surfaces... and Stellantis not really helpful saying it is a non "active scan" suspension characteristic!!!

I had read about that, I think you should take a test drive and find a cobbled area to check it out!! :)

A search suggests it may be this one in Carlisle. If so it is due a new MOT this month, a check on last years MOT had advisories https://www.usedcars.dsautomobiles.co.u ... sle-545115

If not sure about a car try other makes that are similar to give a comparison.

Oh, and not that dealer strangely ! It's at Telfords. A good dealer by all accounts.

It looks to have a good spec. Our cars also have reversing cameras and they make a big difference when parking, something I would not be without now. https://www.telfordautomobiles-carlisle ... a/21750574

It would make a nice change having a camera, the sensors on my c-max are good but obv without screen guidelines. Looks like the car may not be in the high luxury tax band which would be a decider too!

Hi all, just an update! Bit the bullet today and test drove a 2021 ds7 puretech 180 Opera, a dream to drive, so quiet and smooth, plush interior, lots of toys to play with. Was worried if I'd forgotten driving an automatic again but it was seamless to do. So, signed on the dotted !ine and will be in my hands a week on Wed. My mind was made up by the idea it's a pretty reliable engine, an affordable used premium car compared to say a BMW or Audi of the same age and mileage. I know I'll have to fork out premium tax but the dealer offset that with extras amounting to that after I pushed a little. I will post back sometime to let you know how ownership is going... hopefully no drama!

A little drama... Moisture in rear light and one running light kaput, stellantis replacing both free tomorrow. Disappointed with fuel consumption, 30.7 mpg town/country driving. Hoped for at least 40 ish! Maybe active scan doesn't help there, can't tell difference between it and normal mode. Will try normal a couple of days. Its a 1.6 puretech 180, if anyone can advise if there's another reason?

If the trip computer has not been reset for a while it might not reflect your mpg. On our cars it is reset by holding in the button on the end of the wiper stalk. Also on our cars once it reaches 6214 miles (9999 km) it stops going up so needs resetting.

I'll check that out paulC5, thanks. Would you know anything about memory seats? Thing is, the car retracts the seat fully back when you stop and get out, when you get in it is a stretch to reach the brake pedal to start the car only then does it go to your memory position, worse for my wife! Can it be set not to go back? I only have a very complicated ds7 manual on my phone so hard to look for an answer.

I wonder if the car has been sitting for a while and the battery went flat. Maybe a BSI reset would help?
