Morning all
Thought I would see if anyone has experienced a leaning Xantia.
Its a Hdi with non hyroactive suspension
I've noticed its lower on the RHS compared with the left by about 10mm. Tyre pressure on all corners are correct. When its at its lowest height setting there is still a lean. At the highest setting it measures about 15mm difference.
All the suspension bushes are good. I'm at a loss to figure out what would make it lean to one side, even when its set to low height
Any suggestions gratefully received
regards
James

Have a look through this thread where Jim posted some guides. You may find the answer: viewtopic.php?p=764567#p764567
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Leaning Xantia
Jim's topic is mainly for Activa suspension, which actively leans. For a non hydractive car, the hydraulic pressure is always equal left and right, so the fault must be mechanical, due to stiffness in a strut, or a joint.

Is it possible that the front anti roll bar is twisted due to age?

Highly unlikely...maybe the arb mounts ?aerodynamica wrote: 08 Dec 2025, 21:33 Is it possible that the front anti roll bar is twisted due to age?
Check the lower arm bushes, this would also normally give "wayward steering/uneven tyre wear...
I would get the car on 100% flat surface and cycle it through up/down a good few times, drive, repeat then check again.

Re: Leaning Xantia
Right enough, if I recall the arb bushings are also clamped by the rearmost lower arm bushing housings. The arb ones being rubber, might have deteriorated. I think they rely on a heavy preload I.e the rubber is compressed by the clamp quite a bit. That was my guess as to why the screw that passes through the clamp was much longer than the adjacent one that was for the lower arm. If it turns out to be this they're thankfully not too hard to change.Stickyfinger wrote: 09 Dec 2025, 07:20Highly unlikely...maybe the arb mounts ?aerodynamica wrote: 08 Dec 2025, 21:33 Is it possible that the front anti roll bar is twisted due to age?

Thankyou all for the help. I completely over looked those. I'll order a pair and feedback when I swap them over

Re: Leaning Xantia
Its been a while but i finally got around to changing the arb bushes. This has made a big difference and measurement is almost same on both sides now. Thanks all for the help
