Anybody seen one ??

Post by bikeboyz »

It looks like, as far as I can see on the web, Peugeot Nigeria and Peugeot Kenya are still building the Peugeot 504! PSA's site is a bit quiet on the subject of when it will stop. Has it? It seems very strange looking at

at the model line up seeing 607 and 504 both for sale! Has anybody come across a new 504 in England imported?

Yes i think the 504 is still being built in africa. It was always a really popular model out there as the diesels were totally indestructable. There are some 25year old+ 504s out there being driven by maniacs on the worst roads imaginable and run on a mixture of parafinn and cooking oil.
Until recently they still built the 504 in argentina but finished production in about 1999 i think.

Last year in Tunisia there were loads of these old 504's all with star ship millage but going strong. I thought they must have been old due to model etc but read an article in a classic car mag where they showed 10 old car's that are still being built, Citroen ZX in China, Pug 504 in Africa, Morris oxford (?) in India that kind of thing. Picky of the engine on the 504 wiring all over the place.

So new cars aren't exactly cheap in Nigeria - even with only 5% VAT. A new 504 estate for the equiv of £12000.

But as a Taxi it would pay for itself in only a year or so wouldn't it?
