Particle Filter additive level too low

Unread post by the_wondering_owl »

Hello French Car owners

C3 Picasso here 1.6 Diesel 2014

124K miles and not knowingly had this topped up before (have had the DPF filter cleaned at about 110K miles and not sure if this was topped up as part of that!)

Just had "Particle Filter additive level too low" warning pop up, which from looking on line seems to be Eolys or PAT fluid top up required.

I see that some sites mention getting a bottle with a hose adaptor and refilling and other sites imply that there is a bag to buy for this and put in place (not sure if the refilling via the hose adaptor is actually going into this "bag" or if thats a different system. Came here to see if anyone knows?

I dont seem to be able to see where this connector or the location is (I have read its buy the exhaust pipe, although on other Citroen 1.6d cars it seems to be on the passenger side which is not where my exhaust is)

Was considering taking to the garage to get it filled however its its relatively easy to do as a DIY option I would rather do that, if i can find out where it is (i guess its under some kind of protective cover but could not see anything obvious)

I have a really cheap amazon OBD fault reader (STOGA U480 CAN-BUS OBD2 ENGINE SCANNER CODE READER can bus OBD 2 Diagnostic Scan Tool), which may or maynot be able to clear the fault, I have not tried to do this yet, is this also something that will need a more comprehensive high end diag too?

Appreciate any help anyone maybe able to offer here.

Cheers

Tank is under the car slightly forward of one of the rear wheels, but not sure which side on this model - it will be under a plastic cover. 2014 will get refillable tank, bags were only up to about 2010. Plenty of vids on YouTube, although I couldn't find a C3 Pic specific one! Diag tool needs to be able to do service functions, as the reset is more than just a code delete - but nothing to lose by trying it.

Thanks Richard, esp regarding the date bags turned into tanks !

I will have a dig around under the car, im guessing its going to be around the area of the exhaust pipe somewhere; sound like I will have to take it to a garage to get the codes reset though !
