Electric traction

Unread post by Oddjob »

Hi everyone. A few weeks ago I got a fault message on my Citroen e c4 saying electric traction fault. I took the car to Citroen and they had a look at it and came to the conclusion it was a faulty heater. So they ordered a new one and I then took the car back to be repaired .
Later that day they phoned me to say that they had broken the tool to power down the high voltage and they would order a new one.
Can anyone tell me if there is such a tool or are they fobbing me off. Because they also said it was a big job. 1 to 2 days.
So can anyone enlighten me on this please .
Thanks
Ps The car is only 6 months old and obviously under warranty.

Don't know about anything on the cars but the workshop needs special tools.

Power down tools for electric vehicles (EVs), consider the following essential tools:
Insulated Pliers: Essential for safely handling wires and cables without the risk of electric shock.
Ratchets and Sockets: Important for working on components like battery packs and motors.
Screwdrivers: Specifically designed for EV components, ensuring safety during maintenance.
Spanners: Useful for tightening bolts and nuts on various EV parts.
Safety Equipment: Including insulated tools and protective gear to ensure safe working conditions.
These tools are crucial for safely and effectively working on electric vehicles.
