Heads up display & Sat nav

On the heads up display, when using built in sat nav, there is a large light blue square area which displays miles to next instruction, plus direction change arrow as appropriate. When using Waze, this square stays blank. A couple of days ago I was using Google maps, and I noticed that the displayed direction arrow was appearing as a mirror image of what was displayed on the “big” screen. For instance, if approaching a roundabout at which I needed to take the first exit, the display showed a circle, with the number 1 in the centre, representing 1st exit, and an arrow pointing left. However, on the heads up display, though it still displayed a number 1, the arrow was pointing to the right. Has anyone else got this issue, or is it just me?

Sounds like a left hand drive instruction, check the head up display settings to be sure it is set to RHD

Left is left and right is right regardless of where you sit in the car, even in the southern hemisphere

Looking at car screen or hud settings is a good place to start, if not you can try phone settings. I assume android, if IOS I've no idea. In later versions of android, android auto doesn't show up as an app icon but it is there in background, it's how maps talks to cars. So, phone settings, apps, show all apps, android auto. Tap that and in the list you will see a heading "additional settings in app"; tap that, scroll down, under advanced settings you should see drivers seat location which is settable to left or right. Not saying it will help, but no harm in trying.

Yes but if you drive on the right the first exit at a roundabout is on the right whereas driving on the left first exit is left!

But then it would be third exit.

Is it just the HUD? What if you retract the HUD, is it correct on the speedometer panel display?
