Hello folks.
Citroen C4 VTR+ 2011
Headlights not working and it’s all a bit weird. On starting I get 2 messages. ‘Check dipped headlights’ and ‘Check sidelights’
Sidelights and full beam work fine. Tried changing bulbs on dipped headlights and they still do not work.
Looked for fuses but where the manual says they should be they don’t exist!
I’m stumped. Could it be a confused ECU?
How do I measure voltage at the bulb plug. There’s a brown and yellow wire. I assume brown is live?? Should it be 12volt there? Help!!
Thank you.
Joe

Hi Joe,
Are the dipped headlights using H4 lamps?

Well then they are 12V lamps so you should see 12V across the plug when they are turned on.

You could also try a BSI reset. https://frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/view ... 79#p601679
How old is the battery?

Doesn’t matter. Assuming you have a multimeter or similar, put your meter negative lead against a decent earthing point on the body or engine, stick the red lead into either lamp socket. Then try the other one. You should see volts on one but not the other.

Thanks for replies. Battery is new last spring. I’ll try the reset and report back. Cheers.
