Hello all,
I’ve been building an S2 Rallye here in Finland. It’s had a hard life so I thought I would do it right and it’s been bareshelled. Now it’s fun remembering how everything goes back together!
Right now I’m trying to get the gearbox linkages set up correctly.
I had trouble getting the box into neutral so I dropped the box again and I’m sure the clutch bearing is properly engaged on the forks and I can get neutral fine now. But the gearshift is terrible, stiff notchy, just not happy. I even bought some new linkages to eliminate them. When I pull back to second the “rubber ball” linkage comes out from the gear shifter under car linkage. Only the long 336mm linkage is adjustable.
Can you give me some things to check before I have to assume it’s the box internals?
Also on one gearbox linkage there are two places for connecting the linkage. I’ve never seen the upper one used, I wonder what the other linkage ball is for.
Thanks in advance and greetings from Finland!
Jake

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
