Citroen C5 x7 Hydractive High Pressure Leak

Unread post by robertall »

Hi,

I have some important questions about the high-pressure hydraulic system on the C5 x7, I have a high-pressure leak above the fuel tank, on a 2008 Citroen C5 x7 2.0 HDi.

I do not trust AI, but I do use it as a guide sometimes; it dis-recommends using copper brake pipe, as the maximum pressure of the system will damage the copper brake line. I know it is possible to make or repair your own lines, but if AI is correct about the copper pipe, what pipe material should I use?

Thanks all :)

You should get all the info you need at: https://shop.citroenclassics.co.uk/hydr ... g-99-c.asp :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Ai is correct.....copper is BAD !

Use cupro nickel / kunifer pipe only.....also standard brake fairs to make a join is a bad idea (officially.....I agree with that btw= bad)

The Correct way is using a suitable (for Citroen "constant" high pressure lines) pipe-joint (Citroen part number 5280 T3-----HYDRAULIC PIPE 2 WAY UNION) that uses the Citroen specific flair design and end nuts.. Note a flair tool will be needed for the STEEL pipe Citroen used.

Often offered are joints using compression joints.....a DANGEROUS method
