saxo for my son

Unread post by alviseven »

Just bought a 1998 Citroen Saxo Expose for my son. Mot till the first quarter of next year and was taxed but had blown a head gasket - hence it was cheap and saved it from scrapping. 85K and only three owners from new seems a very straight car with nothing molested. Plan to strip the head and and allow the lad to learn a little more about the working of the car. Having difficulty with finding the crank locking pin point - think I have found the hole on the crankcase but cannot get a pin to locate with the flywheel. Camshaft lock pin in place but crank will not lock in any position. Also think I have a airbag fault but not certain. Have heard car run and did hope when I found the thermostat seized that we had found the problem but sadly I think that this seizure may have been the undoing for the previous owner.

If you post your VIN, which will be obscured from public view, someone may be able to help :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Found the locking pin hole today was in the right area but found an online image of the correct hole and its further inboard than I thought and far more inaccessible than I credited it with hence the pin is cranked I guess. Got to persuade the son to now come and start work....
