Headlights

Unread post by myglaren »

An article on the Beeb website this morning

Headlights to be reviewed after drivers complain of being 'blinded' at night

I don't have much in the way of complaints in this area as I don't do much night driving but on the rare occasions tat I do I have only had a small number of instances were it has been uncomfortable, mostly down to the low traffic density around here, despite being in the centre of a triangle of three major cities.

I do have LED headlights but they don't seem all that bright.

I see this on the news this morning, they are setting up a review to see if the requirements have to be changed, then they will discuss the changes, then put it into law, then get the manufacturers to make the changes - me thinks years away yet!
I have LED lights aswell, and the on dash adjuster is set a '1' as I find the factory setting of '0' puts the light pattern too high and you can't see a thing, probably too high for oncoming vehicles too.
I think the problems arise from either aftermarket lamps or just bad adjustment.

A pity that was US based, it would be interesting to see a UK equivalent summary!! :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

It would but does demonstrate the problems. Very few cars here have the clever lights, just the blinding ones.
