C4 Grand Picasso DPF

Hi all, I need some advice on a DPF issue. Car is a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 2014 2.0L Diesel and has done approx 120,000 miles and has had an adblue delete done. I've had engine warning light come up almost a year ago, and the fault was a blocked DPF and engine limited. I have been able to clear this with a basic reader and app on my phone and for a long time until now the DPF warning hasn't reappeared. However now it seems pretty consistent and it's being accompanied with another error stating too much soot accumulation at bank 1?
I've tried various things, DPF cleaner, running it down the motorway at 3000RPM for half hour. On the weekend I decided to get the DPF off and hosed it both ends, I soaked it in hot water with dishwasher tablets overnight, hosed it again both ends, jet washed it both ends, no acid solutions though. The first wash actually came through a lot cleaner than I had expected, and I'm not exactly sure what flow I'm supposed to have but it wasn't gushing through especially when I reversed the direction. Didn't see a lot of ash come through either. Put it back together, encountered a hill and then the error came back again which was rather frustrating to say the least, although only the particulate filter restriction error come up - P246C is error I have on my reader.

I have some other ideas but it's going to involve a garage as I don't have a proper reader, replacing the eolys fluid and resetting the DPF so it thinks it's new. Would there be any more suggestions? I was thinking of trying the wynns off car DPF cleaner but I've seen some posts not recommending it - and also don't want the joy of battling with the exhaust clips again.

I would take it off and clean it with brick acid, which is diluted Hydrochloric Acid or HCl, and then make sure it it fully dry before refitting.
