Anyone know if it is possible to remove the rain/light sensor from a breaking car and fit it to a car which didn't have that installed originally? I realise I will also need the steering wheel stalks but presume these can be unclipped somehow can they?
Tried removing one of these sensors from a Citroen but it appeared to be bonded solidly to the windscreen and not removeable in any way.

First of all, do you even have wiring preinstalled? If yes, it will be easy. Just some secondhand sensor (with NEW gelpad - it can't be reused because of contamination) and some basic coding/calibration.
If you don't have wiring, you will need wiring loom too, and most likely need advanced coding or even new BSI unit. I don't think that much hassle and money (BSI units and programmers are expensive) is worth it.

Re: Remove Rain / Light sensor
I was hoping that the wiring would be preinstalled much like the cruise control was where it was all there just not used, but don't know. Where do I look to check for the relevent plug to see if it is there? I can do the coding necessary with the Lexia-3, hope not to need a different BSI, can't see any evidence that Peugeot used different BSI for cars with/without automatic wipers.Arkis wrote: 18 Oct 2025, 17:29 First of all, do you even have wiring preinstalled?
