Hi, I have a 2017 relay van 2.0 enterprise Dw10fud engine. I’ve had the head skimmed and pressure tested but been told I need the block skimmed too, is that correct?
Also where the big ends were knocking it’s damaged the crankshaft and piston end cap, I was also told I can’t get crankshaft reground as it’s too soft, any truth in this also?
Thank you.

Re: Citroen Relay engine rebuild.
I have never heard of a crank being too soft to grind, they are ground at the factory, I would speak to a decent engine machine shop

With so much damage it would probably be better to go for a re-manufactured engine with a warranty from a company like this:

Hi Weller, yes it did overheat so I had head pressure tested and skimmed.

Re: Citroen Relay engine rebuild.
Gibbo2286 I’ve already rebuilt the top end, new cams, followers, lifters, waterpump, timing belt and chains, tensioners so now doing bottom end, big ends, bearing cap, oil pump, so I’m too far into it now and I’ll also know my engine will be fully reconditioned once finished.
