My ABS/ESP failure warnings are now permanent. Lexia returns "Permanent Fault - Electrovalve Internal". I have an identical 2nd hand ABS unit which I intend to fit before the MOT expires later this month (ABS PartNo 9635584980. ECU 10.0960-1113.3 Pump 10.0206-0005.4)
Is it possible to check the serviceability of the replacement ABS unit by simply transferring over the connector, ie without disturbing the current hydraulic pipework?
After installation of the replacement ABS unit, does it need to be coded or calibrated, if so how? Is the procedure on Lexia?
Any other useful advice much appreciated. I would hate to have to scrap an otherwise perfectly serviceable car after 25 years/205,000 miles/
