Just going back through all the cars I've had to the early 80s and I always had estate cars, except for the fun cars (MGB, MG Midget). I just wanted the versatility they offered.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

We had saloons and hatchbacks all with big boots but then got the 2007 C5 estate which spoilt us so now only estates for us. Some people like suvs but I think many have less room in the boot than an estate. We do not have a dog, daughter has one and that goes on the back seat of the Cactus using a seat cover but the car is still full of dog hairs - I vac it out when I get it to service and it looks a lot cleaner but they do not seem too bothered.
