Believe so, VIN needs to be changed in the radio or it will beep incessantly!

Yes it would need coding to the car.
Lexia/Diagbox will definitely do it, but another decent aftermarket diagnostic tool is also likely to be able to do it.
It may also need a few other settings adjusting to match with your specific car (when I bought my X7, the NG4 in it thought it was in a Peugeot etc) but it's all straight forward to do and if you check the Diagbox member map on here you will likely find a nearby forum member who will do it for you.
