peugeot 205 diesel; how to adjust idle and throttle

Unread post by Dussac24270 »

Hi all
I have a non turbo, mar two 205 GLD. I notice that by the throttle linkage there are two adjusting screws; I am assuming the one closer to the grill is a throttle stop, the one towards the rear of the engine is for the idle as it sets the position of the throttle linkage, does that seem right?
I have just changed the fuel filter, its a purflux unit. A fiddly job as its right next to the expansion tank. Managed to prime it but the engine doesnt seem happy to idle. I have used the bleed nut on the side of the filter housing to bleed out air, just wondering if I need to reset the engine idle speed?
Any suggestions appreciated

A read through this thread on the Peugeot forum might give you some ideas: https://www.peugeotforums.com/threads/e ... ed.201522/ :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Post a pic. Has the idle just gone lumpy after the night temps have dropped? May be the waxstat or the setting off.
You shouldn't need to touch anything after a fuel filter change

Notice the BX is still top the list but sadly gone
