C4 2016 Picasso Under Steering Wheel Cover

2016 C4 Picasso Auto Diesel.

Whilst removing the cover below the steering wheel to access the cabin filter, I accidently disconnected one end of a short pull rod that seems to want to hang virtically.

I cannot see what this pull rod connects to.

Can anyone assist please.

Can you post a picture? It's possibly something to do with the heater.

Ive taken the covers off again and find I was mistaken. The metal pull rod is attached fine, it is a plastic "rod" which appears to have a male component on the free end of it, but despite my spending half an hour looking, seems to be able to attach to nothing, I give up.
