Question about Citröen C5
Hi everyone. i'm willing to buy a 2010 C5 with the 1.6 e-HDI engine with the automated manuel 6 speed gearbox. when hard braking to a stop the gearbox returns to N and requires to move to gear lever to N then back to D. also it steers right also when hard braking. what is the culprit of both of these problems ? the owner says the master cylinder needs changing to fix braking issue and he got used to putting it back to drive and stating that it ain't a big issue. this is in tunisia where car market is very different from other places.

Re: Question about Citröen C5
Not knowing what other options may be open to you but I would always advise patience when looking for a new car. It clearly has issues so I would walk away and find something else. The pulling to the right could get expensive as could the potential issue with the EGS gearbox control. Don't get involved would be my advice
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: Question about Citröen C5
Pulling to one side under braking could be caused by a number of things in the braking system - stuck caliper, seized brake cylinder, fault in the master cylinder (unlikely), block/kink in the brake pipe/hose on one side... Should be relatively straight forward for a decent mechanic to identify the problem and sort.
For the autobox problem, I'd start by checking the fluid level (if fluid is low, under hard braking it could be starving the pump of fluid and that puts it into neutral?). Thereafter it gets a bit more complicated...
