Cranking Engine with Diagbox without Starting?

Unread post by JimmyTulip »

Hi everyone,

I’m wondering if anyone knows whether Diagbox has a function that allows you to crank the engine (engage the starter motor) without the engine actually firing up.

The reason I’m asking is that I’d like to build up oil pressure before the first proper start. This may be important after the car has been sitting for a longer period of time, or after an oil change/engine work, when you want to make sure the lubrication system is primed before combustion begins.

In my case, the vehicle is a Citroen C5 Aircross - BlueHDI180 - Diesel - MY2019, which is related to some other models like Peugeot 3008/5008 SUV or Opel Grandland X
It would be great, if the diagnostic tool already offers a safe way to do this.

Has anyone here tried this, or can confirm if such an option exists in the software? Any tips or alternative methods would also be appreciated.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Not aware of that being an option in diagbox, but you can achieve that just by unplugging all the injectors, or crank/cam sensors, or pulling the fuse for the fuel pump - the engine won't start without those.
