I don't know about anybody else... but the Engine Oil Dipstick for the 2007 Peugeot 207cc is extremely difficult to read!
Has anyone though about replacing this for a different type? I am thinking of purchasing the below dipstick which has the more traditional yellow tip. I am assuming that as long as the length of the dipstick is the same and the distances between "min" and "max" are the same.. there should be no issue?
Has anyone done this before?

Not for that same car but in the past I have added extra marks to a dipstick with a fine Dremel blade to make the top and bottom easier to identify. You just need a light scratch across the stick and it shows up much better.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

The plastic tips can sometimes break off so you are probably better keeping your metal one if that is what you have.

Just going from my current dipstick, drill a couple of tiny holes at the relevant places with a Dremel and a 1mm or smaller drill. Very easy to see.
Edit. Just been to dip my oil, crucial in this car and took a couple of photo's.

The photos really help explain- is this dipstick in your photos a replacement which you have purchased and installed? as my dipstick looks more like this below photo:

No, this is the original dipstick for my current car.
Yours looks clear enough though and difficult to improve on

A search suggests you are not the only one finding it hard to see the oil on that type of dip stick. This is on the Peugeot forum. A suggestion on there is to roll the stick on tissue to see the level. https://www.peugeotforums.com/threads/f ... ck.164457/

Would it be a daft idea to spray it white with high temp engine paint?

Re: 2007 Peugeot 207cc- Change Oil Dipstick for New?
My concern with that would be paint flaking as time goes by and contaminating the box, maybe powder coating would be safer!
