2015 2008 Creak/Knock

Good Evening,

I’m wondering if anybody could shed a little light on an issue I’m having with a customers 2015 2008 HDi.

It initially came to me with a creak and a knock at the front.

So far, I’ve changed both complete lower arms, both outer tie rods and both top mounts.

It was fine for a while, but now has a loud creak when approaching full lock again in either direction. It seems top-mount ish. Are they just a not very good design or do they regularly fail etc?

The mounts I fitted were full FAI Units which weren’t overly cheap. Included the spring bearing, actual mount, new nut and cupped retainer etc.

The way they hold to the chassis seems to be an afterthought compared to most other cars.

The drop links I haven’t changed but they feel fine and have no play etc.

I’m more of a German car specialist than French so figured I would see if anybody on here can shed any light and confirm I’m not going mad etc before I replace the top mounts again under warranty?

As it appears approaching full lock I think a check of the steering rack mountings is in order, you may have a loose ish bolt?
