Hello
Can anyone help me locate an RPM signal to my Xantia 2?
With the little knowledge I have , I assume that there must be one RPM signal cable at the wires of the ignition coil unit. In many cars that don't have tachometer by factory, the mechanics "take" a signal from there to install an aftermarket tachometer.
In my case , there no need for tachometer , because the car has its own. But I want to install an adjustable Shift Light, somewhere close to the instrument cluster, and it would be very convinient if a signal would come by factory behing the instrument cluster.
Also, if anyone knows, the voltage range of the signal it would be great.
Thank you in advance!

What is your RP number & we can have a look at a wiring diagram.

Re: Xantia 2 RPM signal location
I have these diagrams for the XU10J4 engine in series 2 Xantia, probably quite similar tp the 1.8.
It looks like wire 429 goes from the crank position sensor to the tachometer and cruise control.:

Re: Xantia 2 RPM signal location
Thank you for your answers. I will try to find it behind the instrument cluster. The car is Xantia II with 1.6 motor gasoline as a model. If anyone knows anything more , please inform me.

Component 1620 is the vehicle speed sensor, that is the speedometer signal to the instrument panel.
Component 1313 is the engine speed sensor, this is the signal we are after, i can find a diagram for just the rev counter, we can see the signal from the sensor to the ECU but not where it goes to the instrument panel.

Re: Xantia 2 RPM signal location
Oops sorry about the misinformation.
It looks like the Engine RPM pulses must be wire 426, which also goes to the 16 pin diagnostic connector (as 4260).
