EGR valve
Hi . I recently changed the EGR valve as I had really poor starting and running but no fault codes. So I made an educated guess and plumped for the EGR. Purchased an NTY one from Autodoc. Getting the old one out was a nightmare but replaced it. Cleared the fault and it initially ran ok for about a day but now keeps coming up with the EGR fault code . Having a little trouble clearing the fault codes on Diagbox ( see separate posts ) but checked it with a cheapo code reader and get P0489. The one I removed was a Pierburg one. Does anyone think that the aftermarket one may be causing the issue. I also found that I have an empty Eolys tank whilst scanning. Would anybody know the correct fluid refill . My Vin is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] . Many thanks in advance for any help.

Re: EGR valve
Another member was experiencing issues after replacing a Pierburg EGR with a different type and IIRC he cleared his problems by installing a new Pierburg valve. Your local dealer will be able to confirm which eolys fluid you need as I am afraid we currently don't have access to the Stellantis database to look up your VIN.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: EGR valve
P0489 seems to be a circuit code on the EGR valve - try plugging the old one back in temporarily to see if the fault clears?

Re: EGR valve
Hi . Unfortunately, I had to smash the old Egr to attach a slide hammer on to get it out. I guess I may have to try a Pierburg one

Re: EGR valve
If the electrical connector is not damaged you could still plug it in and I think it was not intended to actually install it again anyway.
