Xenon headlights

Unread post by Leejasp »

Hi i have a 2011 ds5 deisel hybrid. Xenon headlights nit working as they should. 2 sensors on rear axles sit in bracket, driver side bracket snapped or rusted away so sensor swings around. Does anyone know where to get this bracket i have tried dealers, quicko, salvage, ebay and ds custoner care still no joy. Headlights point down so poor on a night time. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the bracket mounted to the body or the suspension arm?

If it bolts to the suspension arm, then when I bought a replacement front suspension arm for my C5 X7 recently, it came complete with a new bracket for the height sensor - despite the bracket being a separate bolt on/off part.

Hi Iain
Thanks for reply
It bolts to rear axle.

I don’t know what you mean by rear axle I’m afraid - a DS3 doesn’t have one.

Fair point and not sure how I miss-read that!

That said, I’m actually not sure why it does seem to get called an axle though, because it isn’t an axle in the truest sense. It’s more a rear subframe with a drive motor bolted to it that transmits through independent drive shafts. However that’s semantics…

Perhaps if you contact places that sell them as refurbished units, they might be able to help with replacement brackets.

Failing which, used from a breakers may be your only route…

Can you post a photo? If it's just the bracket you might be able to fabricate something - meccano?
