Hello!
I've got Citroen C3 II ('14) with rear parking sensors.. and I would want to install OEM front parking sensors too. Is it possible? I mean, do I have to change ECU or I need only connect sensors' wires?

Re: Installing front parking sensors
I have no specific knowledge of the C3 but I do know that with the C5 X7 there are different ECUs depending on whether you have rear sensors only, front and rear sensors, whether there're parking assistance sensors and whether or not there's a reversing camera. In addition the wiring might not even be there.
Why not aftermarket sensors? They'd be much simpler.

Re: Installing front parking sensors
Hi
I have had front parking sensors fitted from new by the dealer before delivery , they are not fitted during manufacture of car, my car is C3 2015 Mk2 1.6 HDI 100 Blue
Since having Adblue tank changed and airbage replaced ive noticed they come on when ignition is turned on or reverse is selected which means they are not on when parking in forward motion.
Clearly they are not just wired to a power source as the switch on function is odd.
Has any one got a set of install instructions, or know where control box is situated.
Im just going out to check softeware update dates for each Control unit ie ECU BIS to see what has changed, Formel D who changed my air bages say its not anthing they have come across.
Will update as appropriate.

Re: Installing front parking sensors
You certainly need to change the parking assistance ECU (located at the rear of the car) with one with software for front sensors. The wiring from the ECU to the front of the car may or may not be present, depending on the specifications tha the car was built to. I wanted to fit front sensors to our 308 CC, but the wiring wasn't present and at the time it was difficult to source an ECU.

Re: Installing front parking sensors
Because I want to have it all on my RT6 screen.
Yeah, I know about PDC's ECU and I know I have to buy front PDC's wiring. But... I thought I just have to connect the wiring directly to the PDC's ECU.xantia_v6 wrote: 30 Oct 2025, 04:47 You certainly need to change the parking assistance ECU (located at the rear of the car) with one with software for front sensors. Re: Installing front parking sensors
In response to request
The official OEM kit for a C3 mk2
is a kit for the C3 Picasso (A58) ref 16 102 791 80
Note that you need to trigger the reverse gear to switch it on or first 20 seconds of switch on. It does not have a picture display like rear one does.
Hope this helps
