O2 sensor problems

Unread post by Cameron_Corbs »

Hi all , so I have a Citroen c3 mk2 , I recently replaced one of the lambda sensors for the MOT which was previously causing a check engine light to come on, so I replaced that its passed the MOT and the check engine light stays off all good , not so fast 😅 its done around 5/6000 miles since then and it conked out randomly and it refused to restart sounded like there was no fuel ! Recovery truck shows up and the car says f**k that i dont want to go on there and when he asked me to show him it started back up again! Anyway I got it recovered anyway as if it happened once it will
Most likely again anyway got it home and same problem start motor engages and refused to start turned everything off and it started! Anyway since I used my OBDII to check no DTC codes , I checked in non continuous monitors and it says the other lambda sensor failed so I have replaced it and still a problem with it more so the heat monitor sensor side for both sensors have failed I will attach a screenshot of what it said but its a mystery

Did you use Citroen parts or copy ones since sometimes copy ones do not work that well ?
Have you checked the crank shaft sensor for rpm when cranking ?

Cant see an oxygen sensor causing the car to cut out like that or prevent starting.
The downstream one doesent even have anything to do with fueling at all, its only there to monitor catalyst efficiency.

Hi mate your right ! As it was working fine again so i took it for a drive and broke down but this time was misfiring and now have a code , do you reckon a new crankshaft sensor will fix it ? Or problem with spark etc?
Many thanks!

It may be worth replacing the crank shaft sensor since they do not cost much and checking its connector/wiring but there might be more to it than that - see this topic viewtopic.php?t=68394
