Peugeot 208 1.4 Vti engine fuse box

Unread post by Daniel78 »

Hello colleagues.
It seems that my car has a temporary short circuit, which occasionally causes an engine overheating alarm on the dashboard.
(The engine does not actually overheat. The diagnostics can continuously measure the temperature).

I found a blown fuse (F9) in the engine fuse box, but I'm not sure what its function is, because the diagrams I found on the internet and forums are all different.

Does anyone know what the function of the F9 fuse is?
Is there a wiring diagram for the engine fuse box for my car (P208 1.4Vti 2012) somewhere? Or where should I look for it?

You may get some help from this site: https://fusecheck.com/peugeot/peugeot-2 ... se-diagram :)

Failing that, this one suggests F9 is for the front heated seats https://fuses.guru/peugeot/peugeot-208- ... ompartment
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

There is usually a fuse list in the handbook, have you looked there ? If you do not have the handbook you can see it through this topic viewtopic.php?t=63209 although a quick look on p168 does not show a fuse at F9 so may be an optional accessory.

What amp rating is the fuse that has failed ?

We had a 2010 C3 with the 1.4 vti and that sometimes gave a false overheating alarm and it turned out it was a known fault and Citroen had a recall fix if you complained. It involved fitting a new temperature sensor with a short wiring loom on the thermostat housing. The sensor was installed at the air bleed point and the old one left in place but not connected.

According to the best information I have, assuming that your engine is an EP3C, F9 is an engine ECU fuse (15A) and only feeds the engine ECU (pin6).

Thank you for the advice, but unfortunately all the pictures&infos come from the original Owner's manual. This manual doesn't mention that fuse.
It is an 15A mini fuse and appears to power the ECU.
