rear suspension

Post by espzetec »

ok, im a newbie here but here goes.
bought a xantia 1.9td the other day. 1993 L reg.
134k on the clock. runs well apart from the suspension.
it lowers and hightens fine. but when in the driving position, the rear end is far too high! it causes problems with headlights not shining where they ought to and the rear view mirror is more or less useless.
whats the problem with this?

Check that a previous owner hasn't bodged the rear height corrector link. The nasty plastic bits often break and less scrupulous types just bodge it up with some bitsd of wire - giving very unreliable operating height.
