semi auto gearbox filter change

Unread post by Alfieb »

Hi all, had my 2009 C4 grand 2.0 diesel for two years, and apart from having the rear airbags suspension changed to springs, its been magic. went through last MOT nothing wrong at all, at 75,000 mls.,
Last few months the semi auto gear box has been playing up, but driveable if driven cautiously, no quick acceleration. A knowlegeable very informative gent has suggest that my problem is common, and a gear box oil and filter change could cure it. Ive been on youtube, and seen the oil change, its a bit difficult as you have to undo an engine mounting bracket and a pipe and move the engine forward slightly to be abe able to get the drain plug out. :?:
OK, thats not a major problem, but, there is not one showing how to change the filter?? When i look up filter on ebay, it seems to show a kit with a sump gasket. has anyone changed the oil and filter, and is it a major job please.
thanks
Alf.

The filter is I believe a pan style one that sits in the bottom of the gearbox, so yes it is a bigger job but only the usual bolts, replace the filter, clean the surfaces and bolt back on the floor. IIRC you have to get the airbox out of the way to get at the filler plug and you need to be sure that you replace the same amount that you drain out. :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
