On the back of my other post the plot thickens....
Had a look at the heater under the passenger footwell and noticed the red cables wer getting very warm, took them off to have a look and ther was a fair amount of sooting. Traced the thick red wire back to under the sterering. Chunk connecter with two wires in One seems to power the heated rear window, the other the heater. The cable from the heated rear window has been spliced to the heater cable!! Un spliced and heater doesn't work...
Read the related post and sound like an ignition switch problem, but what about the warm cables and sooting. Is the heater pulling too much current?
