Hi I'm hoping someone can help me with my issue.
I have a Peugeot 407 HDi 2.0 2006 and both left & right brake lights (tail lights) are not working.
The Third Brake light in the rear window is working fine.
I've checked the fuses they are ok.
Initial inspection both light bulbs were blown, so I replaced them and the new bulbs are not working.
What I have noticed is that on on both sides the green & gold cable on the wiring connecting to the taillight box/housing have burn marks. Also an additional earthing wire has has been affixed to the car body and tail light box/housing. See attached pictures
Has someone encountered this issue and have a solution?

Have you checked the new bulbs to see if they are now blown?

The new bulbs are fine. Its as if no power is getting through to them.

The combination of blown bulbs and burn marks made me suspect overvoltage and that the new ones may have blown due to it.
Have you measured for a voltage in the suspect areas?

I check the voltage, seems there is no power getting through it measured 0.6v.
I marked the socket with a black marker that was not getting power. the grey cable 2nd from the right.

Problem fixed. Sometimes it is the simplest things that can cause the problem.
The cause: cheap made light bulbs.
Ended up replacing 10 bulbs each time clearing out error codes. Bit like the old Christmas lights.
