208 front electric window issues

Unread post by TehAgent »

Something that has plagued me since i got the car.

The drivers side window, always forgets is motion of travel, meaning that i can lower the window and it will go down as normal, but to close it, it goes up in increments, i can get it to relearn its stops, but only as long as the ignition is on and the engine is running. the moment i turn the ignition off, it forgets again. meaning i have to do the whole process again or suffer the bit by bit closure.

The passenger side window, is very temperamental, it works when it wants too. when it does work, it works fine?

All well and good, but when it has decided to stop working when the window is down, this can obviously be an issue as i cant leave the car with the window down?

Im thinking its a loom issue, but not found anything yet.

Just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and resolved it.

There is some guidance as to the operation of the automatic one touch windows here. I wonder if your switch has a dirty patch in its contact causing it to think you've released the switch while you are in fact still operating it? :) https://www.b-auto.net/peugeot_208-13/a ... -1728.html
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

I should have mentioned that i took the switch out and cleaned it, i know how to reset the window, it just doesnt remember the moment the i turn the ignition off.

I take it then that you've been through the reinitialisation procedure described here? :)

Thats what im on about, you can do that, and every time you turn the ignition off, it forgets the settings. so i have to do it again every time i start the car. thats the issue.

You get in, roll the window down using the buttons, then when you roll the window up, it goes up in increments, at the top of its travel, hold the button for 2 to 4 seconds, then the window works as intended with the auto. but the moment you turn the ignition off. it forgets you ever did it.

OK then it looks like it's an issue in the BSi I'd say. I don't know how the BSi memory is configured, hopefully someone else will but here is one more site with a slightly different reset procedure that might be worth a try: https://www.hjalp.ai/article/peugeot-20 ... solutions/

Have you tried cleaning the rubber guides and then lubricating them with some silicone lubricant?
