C5X offline

Unread post by garpat32 »

Just looking to see if anyone has seen similar before I call dealer tomorrow

The "online" features have been ok since I got the car, app updated location, journey's, charge level, all the usual stuff, and all seemed ok

Randomly the app has stopped doing this on Friday afternoon, we never really noticed at the time, but it still showing last contact as Friday

I've looked closer at car settings and it seems to have lost online connection, sos/Citroen assist buttons don't work, any online access on head unit doesn't work

Have tried the usual factory rest etc, and no joy

Cheers

Only a thought, it might be wanting you to pay after the initial free period that comes with a new car.

Yeh, I've had a look and the only thing that's not active is the Tom Tom live data

All other stuff says it's active

The head unit wi-fi option also won't turn on

All weird

Just to update, its booked into dealer next week, but

No dab or radio - I get "Radio antenna not yet available" when trying to search or select a channel

SOS doesnt light up at all or respond to press

Wifi wont enable and no 4g symbol on the display

Built in maps dont load

and the my citroen app just shows last updated Aug 1st and obvs shows no journeys

So I'm thinking some telematics system/module has died, or a simple fuse issue

After my previous poor experiences with DS I like to get a 2nd opinion.

2 wks after getting the car today I took it into Kwik Fit for a £39.99 diagnostic. It threw up the following:

Comments: battery check
Diagnostic report:
U1FEB: No communication with the passengers seat pneumatic functions ECU on the Lin 4
B17F8: Field of vision of the multifunction video camera altered
B17F8: Requires ADAS calibration as after either a tyre change or tyre rotation or even an adjustment in the alignment has pulled
it out of calibration.
Symptoms include Malfunction of the lane departure warning system
Incorrect display of the recommended speed
Incorrect displaying of the type of speed limit sign
Automatic braking not suited to the vehicle situation
The automatic braking cannot be stopped
The emergency collision alert function cannot be selected/deselected
Unwanted selection/deselection of the emergency collision alert function
Selection/deselection of the emergency collision braking function impossible
Unwanted selection/deselection of the emergency collision braking function
No emergency collision alert function warning or unwanted warning
Displaying of a message or of an audible warni

I've not submitted a form to my local Citroen dealer to ask if its anything to be unnecessarily worried about. I couldn't ask anything detailed at Kwik Fit because the master technician wasnt there.

Maybe if you went for an independent diagnostic you could be armed with the true information about what's actually at fault before it goes in for a service?

It's under warranty so they can sort it mate

A lot of errors like the above can be old errors that haven't been cleared

Reading another forum, there seems to be a few instances of this failure, i wonder if it could be a dodgy software up date?

Tried mine earlier, got as far as 3. How long is it till 4 happens? 2 lasted just a few seconds.

Just looked 3 lasts 1-2 secs, then it goes back to 1 as per Stu's diagram. Very helpful.

Just to update

Car into Dealers today, logs etc taken and sent to head office for a response

Issues I have are

SOS and CItroen assist buttons dont do anything
DAB radio just shows "waiting for antenna" and never changes
Maps dont load
Road sign recognition doesnt report correctly (shows random speeds then goes blank) so auto cruise is no use
Citroen App no longer connects or updates
Anything else "internet" based on the head unit also fails with no signal
Entering the engineer mode and the BSRF unit fails to report any SW or HW versions

All was working previously, and theres no errors or warnings seen

Could be the antenna, read some posts in social media with this kind of issue and is was a faulty antenna. From what I know the antenna was developed by Continental and is has multiple modules like gps, glonass, ecall, wifi and bluetooth. Should be replaced under warranty.

Dealer has the car for a day, they sent logs from the unit to head office who diagnosed a software update and replaced a fuse

All working ok with no.parts replaced

All very weird

Makes you wonder though, did the car receive an OTA updated, that made the fuse blow?
If so, what's to prevent it happening again?!

But glad it's resolved.

I don't think so, but we only picked it up a few days before the issues.

12v aux battery was very depleted so we didn't get electric only until a decent run and charge or two

The warranty will definitely be getting extended with Citroen though
