New MAF & MAP needs Reset?

Unread post by yoseff »

Like i mentioned in another topic (viewtopic.php?t=80581&start=15) , i fitted a new MAF (Continental) and MAP (Nipodenso) , but i continue with very high readings at idle (12 - 13)
Doing some search , it seems that some cars need a reset by disconnecting battery for around 10 minutes.
Could this be the case for a 2011 citroen C5 2.0 Hdi 163 hp?

It is a possibility but can't do any harm to carry out a BSi reset procedure following this guidance:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Will try it. Thanks.

On the procedure, if i well remember, mentions turning on sidelights at some point. That mean 1st position of lights turned on, right? (In mine it turns on DRL Leds)

Did the procedure. After it something curious happened (will share photos later) On FAP , the air required at idle , that was previously on the 200 something , is now on the 400's , matching what is getting. I have an error saying that one of the BSI datastream parameters is invalid (U1218) , but i think i saw it before (but after some time disappears).
On torque it continues on the 12. something g/s

Will try the car now and will give feedback later.
Maybe it cures also the random automatic rear window washer

Thanks

Ok. Weird stuff continues:
After the reset, this is what i got on FAP:

So basically, it continues with the high readings, but now the engine agrees with the readings (what is requested is what it gets) Even turbo pressure is now in line with what is requested. I was happy.
Car was much smooth , and that roughness on initial acceleration seemed to disappear.

In Torque , numbers still on the high side:

Did around 100 km and some of the roughness sees to reappear.
Was better than before the procedure , but still not perfect.
Now as i check FAP once again, this is what i get:

What the heck can be provoking these high readings on idle?

I'm Half happy as the car drives better and seems to have better throttle response.

But i would really like to have the perfect machine that this can be.

Am i being too demanding on it?
