Rear Counterweight part

Unread post by MixerFistit »

Does anyone know what the rear weights/dampers are called on the CC models my 307cc ones appear to have badly worn bushes which may be contributing to a mystery knock on the rear left (I'm taking it off to road test shortly).

The part has cast in large unmistakable digits: 9658678080 G * 9658678080 G * around in a circle

Google returns a complete blank for what appears to be a standard number format. Appreciate parts section is out of action but maybe someone has worked around these before and at least knows the name of them - or knows where to get bushes, looking at them, there is nothing to catch the weight if the bush ever fails, it's going to drop a 10kg(?) weight into the road.

Edit, ok. The top has a narrower hole so it wouldn't drop completely, but still..

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

I think that they are #16 here, "Floor Balance Weight". You would not want the floor to be unbalanced. Note that left and right are different!

Thank you Mick, the axle bushes have already been replaced though (and shocks and top mounts). The bush I referred to is inside the rear damping weight and likely isn't available separately.

That looks very much like what I'm looking for, thank you (and double thanks for pointing out the parity!) .
Unfortunately, the knock remains even with it off. Although I'm starting to wonder if there's something rattling in the massive boot side lining, it doesn't seem violent enough to be suspension parts (and I've changed it all except the springs). Someone on another forum suggested it's front parts making the rear noise and it travels! I'm open to the possibility but my hearing refuses to accept it.

Completely unrelated - does anyone know why the back of the boot lining (nearer the bumper) has another kind of roller blind, much smaller than the one that enables the roof switch. It doesn't seem to have any purpose other than moulding itself to whatever is in the boot, but it's such a small amount of movement it seems pointless

I have wondered about that roller thing myself. Can't work it out, but that's not the only thing I don't understand about my cc.
Absolutely hate modern cars and being ripped off by garages that play parts roulette.
