I have a 2015 1.6 diesel vtr+ I have had the timing belt and aux belt and tensioner replaced. There is still I slight chirp from the aux belt on cold start and the ship start chirps when it tries to restart. I have disabled stop start for now.
My question- is there any other way to tension the automatic tensioner I believe it just needs to be a little bit tighter to fix the issue?
The garage that replaced the belt suggests a new alternator.

If this uses the alternator to re-start the engine, then there should be 2 tensioners on the aux belt - the 'normal' upper one provides running tension; the lower one provides reverse tension when the alternator re-starts the engine. These often fail early as the spring runs in compression most of the time. Suggest you get the garage to check / replace this.
