Citroen C5 X7 3.0 HDI V6

Unread post by iongolf »

Hello everyone,
A few days ago I noticed a faulty camshaft position sensor (CMP). There's very little information about this engine. Can anyone help me and tell me if it has one or several, and especially where it's located?
Thank you very much

There is a thread on the C6 owners club forum that has some information and you will find David Hallworth on there who is also a member here and if he sees your question he will probably be able to help. https://c6owners.org/plugins/forum/foru ... .php?34643 :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

There's little information on this engine in Citroen's because it was a rare fitment, but it is a very common engine in other vehicles - Land Rover, Range Rover, Jaguar.

This YouTube video

shows the location of the sensor (direct link to the spot in the video).

You can also look it up on the relevant land rover parts diagrams. A few examples below:
https://landrover.scuderiacarparts.com/ ... 4272/77369
https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.co ... and-rover/

Seems to be a horrendously expensive part, so I hope for your sake it's not that actual sensor that is at fault!

Thanks everyone.
I checked on another forum, and they tell me it's on the left side of the front bench, under the common rail ramp. I'll look into it and keep you posted.
Best regards.

Ya está cambiado, aunque sigue dando error, tendré que mirar el cableado. Alguna idea?

It's already been replaced, although it's still giving an error. I'll have to check the wiring. Any ideas?

Something looks amiss in that photo - a bolt is missing and something is dislodged. Is that how you found it, or have you removed a bolt and lifted the cover to expose the sensor for the photograph?
