Good day all,
My 1.6THP 3008 FL (2014) issued this error on the dash last week. To my surprise, that is the only error displayed and no Engine Fault error occured. When the error pop up, I was driving about 3 km away from my home to school, and soon the aircondition seems to only blowing air. From my experience with my Xantia, this seems like the auxillary belt being snapped, thus the alternator and aircond compressor failed to work. I continue with the drive to drop my daughter, and return home. Did not realise any other issues with the driving, other than the aircond not cold.
However, when I reach home and check, the belt is still intact. I start the car and it starts without any issue. Checked the voltage at the battery +ve terminal, I got 14.5V. when I turn off the engine, The voltage dropped to 12.7V. With this info, I assume that the alternator is good. But then, upon further checking, I realised that the radiator fan is not running at all, even when the engine had reached 90 degrees. I then try to change the fan relay, and also the fan itself, with the older working that I have, but then fan is still not running.
Another thing that I realised, when I drive the car, even without the fan running, the temperature will rise up to 90, then it will drop to 70. If I drive at 5th or 6th speed, at around 60-70km/h, I can maintain teh temperature at around 70. I turn my engine off at the traffic light so the temperature will not go overheated.
Anybody had this experience or know how this works? What are the probable cause for this issue? I suspected the BPGA but I don’t;t have a scanner to check.
Thank you for reading,
Dinas.

Re: Battery Charge or Electrical Supply Fault error disabled the radiator fan
I would suggest you go through all the connectors on the BSi and the BPGA and the fan relay and make sure there are no loose or dirty contacts. Then if you still have trouble the best way forward will be a Diagbox scan.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
