Hello
Saw today that my friends Trafic had a stripped belt (on the width) again, it did this about 1.5 years ago.
It's like two of the ribs of the belt are gone, from being a 7PK, now it is lik a 5PK.
Checked all the belts and pulleys that time i replaced it, but is tight and i did it on jackstands. So i could have missed something..
Have ordered new belt kit with tensioner and idler pulley.
Is there any other common faults there?

To me that symptom would suggest that one of the pulleys in the system is running slightly out of true causing excessive wear on that edge of the belt. Once you have the old one off I'd hold a screwdriver tip next to the outer rim of eac pulley in turn and rotate them to check that they are maintaining a constant gap.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: 2007 Trafic M9R 2.0Dci drive belt issue
I took a look at the car yesterday while i did a wheelbearing on it.
It seems like the alternator or its freewheel is the culprit, as the belt is to the right on it and to the left on the rest (ac comp, PAS pump etc..). See pic The alternator is sticking "out" too far it seems. The freewheel seems quite shiny and the whole alternator could have been changed as it is'nt that corroded.
But when i look at my motorfactors website or Autodoc etc.. They only list one type of alternator and freewheel
So it doesn't seem very likeley that they have fitted the wrong parts?
But it might be time for a "ctrl alt delete" and a new alternator..
