205 deisel 1769cc. N reg 1996. 79000mls
Hi all wonder if anyone can help, yesterday I had to drive through about 8inch of floodwater, I had no choice, I went really slowly and all went well until this morning, went to start my car and it is completely dead, obviously electrical I think. My knowledge of cars is limited to changing oil and filter, so any pointers as what it may be would be a huge help. Thanks

Is there any sound at all when you turn the key? If there is only a click sound then the battery has bitten the dust. Another check on the battery is put the head lights on full beam then turn the ignition on if they start to dim and will not glow brighter when you turn off the ignition then the battery is dead. If all this is ok give the starer moter a thump and spray with WD40 as the water ingress may have siezed it in it's off position (so to speak).
