Can I use my VCI for Diagbox to read basic error codes on any car?
Hello, quick question. Ive got a Citroen Relay so I've got the OBD diagnostics hardware for it and I use it with Diagbox and it works great. Just wanted to ask if I can use the same hardware to read fault codes on other vehicles, using it as a basic ELM 327 interface, with a more generic piece of software for Windows? Is that possible? Or do I need to buy a seperate ELM 327 device for that? Thanks!

Quick answer, you could but there's no guarantee it would give reliable results and there is a small possibility that it may upset the car you plug it into.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

With the Lexia 3 hardware interface and the diagbox program, only Citroen, Peugeot and Opel can be tested. There are cheap universal adapters for reading and erasing errors.
