A/C not working

Unread post by Manchinga_ »

Hi guys, I have a DS4 1.6 dsign 2011. The A/C is not running, pressure it's ok, all the fuses seem to be ok as well, but the electromagnet is not activating, I checked with my voltimeter and there's like 1.5V arriving to the compressor which is quite confusing, my plan was to change the relay but apparently it's integrated in the BSM. Anyone had something similar related to the A/C? Any help would be much appreciated 👍

You should have the BSI and engine error codes read, as some conditions that disable the A/C don't trigger any indication on the dashboard.

It will do with an OBD? With my OBD all seems to be good, no error codes shown

If just a low cost code reader it is unlikely to show the air con system and might need a dealer diagnostic. Do the cabin and engine fans run since these are needed for the air con to run ?

The ones in the cabin do, but the one in the engine doesn't start when I turn on the AC

Does the engine fan run if the car is left idling long enough for the coolant to get hot enough to need the fan ? If you look at live data on your code reader this might be around 96°C.

Yes the engine fan works, but I have to replace the thermostat because it stays open and does not usually exceed 75°
