Hi all
1st post! Looking for a little knowledge. I’ve give my van a birthday and replaced belt, cam chain and a set of injectors. Fired it up, blue smoke and missfire.long story short, I unplugged the injectors one by one as desperate diagnostics. Now the van fires up and cuts out immediately. I think I’ve killed the ecu. No relevant fault codes although I do have fuel temp of 900 degrees! Changed that sensor, still the same.
Can anyone shed some light on this please.
PS, I’m a diagnostic tech so should understand tech talk
Thanks
Tony

Re: Citroen dispatch 2.0 hdi fires then cuts out
No one seen this?
I’m sure I fried the ecu. Second question, what do i need if I bought a control unit set? Ecu and key? Or does the mileage integrate with dash, abs, airbag, steering lock like sprinter does? Will I get away with key and ecu?
Thanks
Tony

It has been viewed over 30 times including myself but unfortunately not by anyone who is able to help so far and I can only guess. You might need a better diagnostic before you change the bsi and you could check you have timed it up correctly.
From what I have read on Citroens the mileage is stored in the dash and bsi and if one is replaced the higher mileage of the new part or old is then adopted. I presume this will apply to the Dispatch but do not know for definite.

Is this one of those vehicles that need the injectors coded? If not, I'm be looking at possible trouble with the belt or chain being out of sync.

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

The BSI, ECU & key are all a matched set as far as the immo is concerned. The mileage is stored in both he BSI & instrument panel. If either the BSI or instrument panel are replaced the Higher milage will always be taken. The instrument panel is not immo coded so does not need to be replaced.
If you fit a BSI that has more miles than your car as soon as you plug in the BSI it will (permanently) write the higher miles to your van.
If you fit a BSI that has less miles than yours then your instrument panel will write the higher miles back to the 'new' BSI so your miles will display as they are.
I can't see that unplugging an injector has fried an ECU, was the van running perfect before you done the work?
Have you double checked the timing is set correctly? how did you set it? with proper tools or tipex?
Tried putting the original injectors back in?
Can the ECU see engine RPM, Fuel pressure & cam/crank synchronisation? what are the readings
