C3 Rear Discs & Pads

Unread post by Ado »

Getting various information about the rear disc sizes I need on a 2021 1.2 110 automatic c3 apparently there's 2 sizes.
Need to order a set or rear discs and pads going to do them myself as quotes ar between 4 and 5 hundred. I've changed many in the past so wo t be an issue.

Have you tried measuring the ones on the car, this way you can not go wrong ?

If it has alloys and the wheels have not been removed before you might find they are rusted on to the hubs. If so I find using a hefty block of wood held against the bottom sidewall of a tyre and hit with a 4 lb hammer with the wheel slightly off the ground and the nuts a bit undone will work.

Yeah thought of that get the circumference and pi to get the diameter.
But with wear and rust won't be that accurate unless I take the disc off as the back will be flat and get the diameter that way, just thought maybe using the vin or anything else

Does it have electric handbrake? This rather complicates things...

You could use a caliper to measure the existing ones or make up something such as a cardboard template with a cut out that fits over the raised hub bit. As you say, using the vin in the parts diagrams should give you the right parts but you might need to visit a dealer for this. Caliper example https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/365629974711 ... gL9HPD_BwE

Easier way, call a Citroën parts department, and ask them if they car get you some new disks.
When the parts person says yes, thet are £xx a pair, ask him if they are the 249mm diameter of the 255mm diameter, he will probably say oh they are....... job done! 😁
Then go do your shopping elsewhere!
