P0A35 open circuit permanent fault

Unread post by Jamie66 »

Hi, I posted on here a few weeks ago about my Citroen DS5 having a code fault p iacd open circuit. Permanent fault. A new electric pump was fitted which cleared the fault. But now another fault has occurred coming up po835 pointing to another coulling fault or other operating error. Citroen have advised me they need to have the car in for at least half a day to do a full diagnostics test on the car at a cost of $133 an hour. I have already spent £700 on getting it repaired 350 plus vat for the new electric water pump and now am still without a car. They originally had the car for 6 weeks before they got the engine sorted and then within 5 minutes of driving on a road test it came back with the new fault and the car is still with Citroen where it's been for another weeks. They admit they do not have a lot of dealings with ds5s on the Isle of Wight and I am very concerned about taking it back to them again to get it sorted. I don't know whether to count my losses and take it to the mainland. Or is this a fault that a qualified mechanic not necessarily Citroen mechanic could do? I thought once you had the code you knew exactly what the fault was pointing you to, but apparently not so Citroen say it can be several of certain other faults and is a process of elimination these cars are just too complicated for their own good 😭

This link will give you a clear explanation of the problem indicated by that fault code. https://www.engine-codes.com/p0835.html

There is another thread on here where a similar issue is being addressed which may help too:
